Alpacas at Crossroads Ranch is a small livestock and fiber production farm, offering educational visits to those interested in learning more about the herd of 85 Huacaya alpacas, grazing at pasture in Paso Robles' picturesque oak tree and vineyard covered hills.
If you’re looking for adventure, “Farm Stay for a Day” is just the ticket! Spend the day at the farm helping take care of the herd, while learning about how fleeces are shorn once a year to create beautiful, warm, luxuriously soft textiles from their fiber. The best time of year for this is January. The "Farm Stay for a Day" includes feeding the alpacas and pen maintenance, besides any herd maintenance activity planned for that day, for just $25 per person. Minimum of two adults. Maximum six, which can include youngsters over 8.
Two-hour visits, including Educational Talk for groups, are for those who can only schedule a short morning or afternoon visit. These two-hour visits are only $6 per person, where guests spend time with the herd, feeding them treats and learning about them through questions and answers with the farmers. Tour bus access and parking is available. By appointment. $6 per person, minimum 2. Toddlers and younger free.
