Squibbing Day

Revive Squibbing Day!

Paul and Louise Squibb loved Cambria. When they took a walk around town, they picked up any trash that detracted from Cambria's attractive ambiance. They were out walking so often that they became well known for tidying up the town. Others often joined them, and picking up trash while strolling around Cambria became known as Squibbing. The Cambrian's own Kathe Tanner initiated the clean-up as part of the Chamber of Commerce's Independence Day celebration and fireworks. "I felt strongly that if we were sponsoring an event that could generate a lot of trash, we ought to clean it up," she said. "The Squibbs were delighted by the honor, by the way."

Sunday, September 9th, at the Cambria Historical Museum at 2251 Center Street. All hands are welcome so bring the family anytime between noon and 3pm. Refresh with cookies and lemonade.
