The Morgan at San Simeon is named after famed architect Julia Morgan. She is the noted California architect who designed world famous Hearst Castle in 1919. She also contributed to Hearst buildings on the Berkeley campus, including the Mining Building and the Greek Theater. Today, the Morgan prides itself on being a “refined yet approachable” stop for travelers of Highway 1.
Located in the quaint coastal town of San Simeon, The Morgan is a midpoint between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Beyond just Hearst Castle, the town is also known for the elephant seals that visit the beaches throughout the year. It’s also a short drive to Gateway to Big Sur, the artistic town of Cambria and the noteworthy Paso Robles wine region.
