Zocker

There’s not much Grüner Veltliner planted in the U.S. It’s not very well known, and most domestic vintners don’t know much about how to grow and make it. We were intrigued by this unusual varietal, so we did our research, and discovered that our SIP™Certified Sustainable vineyards could be a perfect place for it. So we took a gamble and planted our 13 acres, along with four acres of Riesling. The result was WOW – beautiful cool climate fruit backed with good minerality – so we created Zocker. Very appropriately, the name means “a gambler” in German.

Come enjoy stunning views and beautiful picnic grounds at the century-old Independence Schoolhouse, where Zocker is poured alongside its sister wineries, Baileyana, Tangent, Trenza, and Cadre.  A truly unique wine tasting experience, all under one roof.
