Point San Luis Lighthouse History Tours

What: Docent led walking tours of the Point San Luis Lighthouse historic site.

The Point San Luis Lighthouse was purchased from the Federal Government by the Port San Luis Harbor District in 1992. In 1995, the Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers non-profit was formed, made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who would go on to to restore the historic site. Currently the Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers continue to run the historic site, overseeing the maintenance and fundraising efforts which go towards the restoration and operation of the Lighthouse. Tours, events, and other efforts allow the non-profit to keep the historic site in good condition.

Docent-led tours of the Point San Luis Lighthouse are held every Wednesday and Saturday year-round. Tours are a great opportunity for stewardship travelers to learn more about the history of the area and connect on a deeper level. The tour is $25 per person and reservations can be made in advance at PointSanLuisLighthouse.org or by calling (805) 540-5771.
