CowParade of SLO County: A stampede is headed our way this September 2016! The world’s largest public art exhibit is coming to SLO County. Over 75 cities and 200 million people worldwide have participated in CowParade, one of the most successful art endeavors ever. Now it’s San Luis Obispo County’s turn. Our area has been chosen to host CowParade SLO County in 2016-17, giving local artists a chance to showcase their talents on a global stage. September 2016, the cows go on parade! A CowParade Map will guide visitors to view 101 cows stationed throughout SLO County.

melodramaAttend a show at The Great American Melodrama & Vaudeville. The Great American Melodrama & Vaudeville attracts some of the most talented entertainers in the business. For more than 35 years, the extraordinary players in this ever-evolving ensemble have been singing, dancing, and winning the hearts of cheering audiences with a unique blend of vaudeville, melodrama, and comedy. Don’t let the sawdust and popcorn fool you; this is first rate entertainment in a family-friendly setting where costumed players serve up the beer and hot dogs before the show and during intermission. Coming up this fall are three great shows: A Witless RogueUnder The Boardwalk, and Trudy and the Beast.

WineStompFirst Fridays on the Creston Wine Trail: The Creston Wine Trail invites you to spend First Fridays with us. Your hosts are August Ridge, B&E Vineyard, Chateau Margene, Olivas de Oro, Shadow Run, Still Waters Vineyard and Stanger Vineyards. We’re a great way to kick off the weekend with Special Wine & Food Pairings and new releases on the First Friday of every month during our regular tasting room hours.  For more information about each location and the First Friday specials visit

ScarecrowFestScarecrow Festival: October in Cambria and San Simeon holds a special appeal! The weather is at its most spectacular and the Annual Scarecrow Festival is in full swing. It’s a great time to experience the area at its quirky and creative best. All month long, scarecrows showcase the artistic creativity, whimsical spirit and sense of humor that is Cambria. Hundreds of scarecrows line the streets, shop windows and beach fronts of these coastal communities.


The Central Coast Aquarium is excited to announce the 4th annual “Catch of the Central Coast” fundraiser dinner on Saturday, September 10th at 5pm at Harford Pier in Avila Beach. This year guests will enjoy a unique setting of spectacular oceans views while dining over the water on the Harford Pier at the Port San Luis Harbor in Avila Beach. This limited seating event will include live music and both a live and silent auction. Guests will be able to choose from a locally sourced, sustainable seafood dinner or non-seafood options, complete with local wine.

Avila Apple Festival: The third annual Avila Apple Festival will be held on September 17th and 18th. On Saturday the 17th, enjoy a farm-to-table dining experience with Chef Jesse Smith. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at On Sunday the 18th, the event will feature apple grower booths, apple pie baking contest, apple pie eating contest, vendor booths, contests, arts and crafts, kids activities, live music, and more on the Avila Beach Promenade.

bay-fest-2013Baywood Bayfest Free concert at Back Bay Inn from 2pm to 7:30pm. Live music featuring Cafe Musique and Zongo All Stars. This is an all ages concert; food and beverage will be available for purchase.


Cayucos Beach Concerts: Enjoy live music, delicious food and tasty beverages at the first annual Cayucos Beach Concert Series, presented by the Cayucos Chamber of Commerce! This is a kid-friendly, FREE event so bring the family. Concerts will take place right off the beach on Ocean Front St. from 1-5 PM on the following Saturdays: September 10, September 24, October 15.

AG_Harvest_festThe Annual Arroyo Grande Valley Harvest Festival kicks off on Friday, September 23rd at 4pm, starting with the annual Rotary Fish Fry, games, arts and crafts, entertainment, and free movie night. The Festival resumes on Saturday, September 24th with the Hometown Parade, followed by even more entertainment, games, contests, foods, crafts and displays.

IMG_1240.1DANA Fiesta! Join the historic Dana Adobe for a fun evening out with Louie Ortega and the All Stars at the 2nd annual Fiesta! Event is September 24th from 5pm to 9pm and tickets are $35, which includes dinner and the concert.
