Believed to have originally been constructed in the early 1800's and renovated around 1860, the Sauer Adobe on Chorro Street in San Luis Obispo has a somewhat sordid history. The building has served as private residence, hotel, restaurant, tearoom, boarding house and rumored bordello. A restoration was undertaken in 1963, restoring the building to its original style.
