Sinsheimer Bros. Store

Constructed in 1884, the Sinsheimer Bros. Store on Monterey Street is the only building in San Luis Obispo County with a cast-iron façade. A popular form of architecture known at the time as "Venetian Renaissance," the iron pieces were cast in San Francisco and transported down the coast to San Luis via ship. The rest of the building is a combination of brick, stucco, wood, and a tin roof. The building is still in service today, with a retail store downstairs and offices upstairs.
